Torbay Royal Regatta – 22nd – 26th August
This traditional and historic event is as old as the town itself and has continued to flourish and grow for 200 years.
With competitive racing over four days on Saturday to Tuesday with classes for IRC yachts, Sportsboats, Junior Dinghies, Asymmetric and Non Asymmetric Dinghies and more, there’s lots of fun to be had!
Somersault Festival – 23rd – 27th July
Following a sell out first year, with 15,000 visitors from 17 countries attending from as far as Australia and the USA, Somersault Festival return’s to the beautiful Castle Hill Estate in North Devon. A five-day summer camp of music & adventure, it’s family friendly fun & outdoor living in the heart of the South West. There are circus displays, comedy, fantastic local food, with yoga and meditation options too.
Dawlish Air Show – 22nd August
Dawlish with its glorious bay and a dramatic coastline, is the perfect setting for the spectacle that is, “Dawlish Carnival Air Show”. As well as thrilling air displays this event also offers events and attractions on the ground including static helicopters located at Dawlish Warren and family fun on the Lawn in Dawlish including sideshows, stalls and ground displays offering something for everyone. Entertainment continues into the night with live music and dance.
Sidmouth Folk Week – 31st July – 7th August
Come and experience the unique week-long seaside celebration of music, dance and song taking place in the charming East Devon regency coastal resort of Sidmouth – a must in every festival goer’s annual diary.
British Firework Championships – 18th – 19th August
The world famous British Firework Championships is set to return the Plymouth for its 19th showdown in August 2015.
The Championships feature six top pyrotechnics companies who set off four tonnes of fireworks over the Plymouth Waterfront as they battle it out to become the British Firework champion.
Clovelly Maritime Festival – 19th July
For a day full of fun and cram-packed with activities and entertainment for all ages, visit Clovelly Maritime Festival. There’ll be lively music, crafty creations and family activities throughout the day, including maritime storytelling, Punch and Judy, underwater adventures and street theatre. Try delicious local food at the seafood kitchens on the quay.
Children’s Week – 17th – 21st August
There’ll be fun and entertainment for all the family as Torbay Children’s Week returns to Paignton Green.
Now in its 69th year a new group, the Friends of Torbay Community Play Days are planning a packed programme of performances, workshops and events throughout the week.
Blackdown Hills Beer & Music Festival – 7th – 8th August
Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Blackdown Hills on the Devon and Somerset border, the Blackdown Hills Beer & Music Festival opens at 6pm on Friday 7th August with over 40 different ales and a selection of ciders. Don’t miss the popular traditional cider on offer from our friends at Tricky Cider. Wine and lager are also on offer if you are shy of the ale.
